Okay so its bad for you. Nitrates, sodium, fat...but it is still so delicious. So unless you are watching your fat intake (or cholesterol) there are lots of reasons to add bacon to your meal, primarily flavor and moisture. And in my book, prosciutto is just a fancy Italian word for bacon!
